performance

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Adreno 840This processor handles demanding games (Genshin Impact, Call of Duty Mobile) at high frame rates and multitasks without lag, though sustained heavy use will generate heat on a 3nm chip.

display

6.9" LTPO AMOLED, 3500 nits peakThe 120Hz screen with 416 ppi stays visible in direct sunlight and scrolls smoothly; the back secondary display (2.9 inch, 3500 nits) shows time, notifications, and camera preview without opening the main screen.

battery

7500 mAh, roughly 1.5 days moderate useWith mixed browsing, calls, and social media, expect about 16 to 18 hours before needing a charge; heavy gaming or streaming cuts this to 10 to 12 hours.

charging

100W wired, roughly 20 to 25 minutes to fullA full charge from empty takes around 20 to 25 minutes via USB-C; 50W wireless charging adds 40 to 50 minutes to full if you dock it instead.

camera

50MP main (f/1.7), 5x optical zoom, 50MP ultra-wideThe f/1.7 main sensor with OIS captures sharp detail in low light (dim restaurants, evening outdoor); the 5x periscope zoom reaches distant subjects (sports, wildlife) without quality loss, and the 102° ultra-wide fits wide group shots or landscapes.

durability

IP68, submersible to 6m for 30 minutesThe phone survives accidental pool dunks, heavy rain, and brief submersion; Dragon Crystal Glass 3 front resists drops and scratches better than standard Gorilla Glass, though no lab test numbers are given.

connectivity

5G (28 bands SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 7, USB 3.2Coverage on most global 5G networks is broad; Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) reaches ~35 Gbps peak theoretical speed over short range, and USB 3.2 transfers files to a computer at 5-10 Gbps.

GoSolo Verdict

The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a 2025 flagship with a dual-screen design, optical zoom range, and 7500 mAh battery that comfortably outlasts most rivals. It's a solid choice for video creators and people who value the rear display as a practical tool, though the compact zoom and reliance on 100W charging (without a charger in the box) temper the value proposition.

Strengths · 4

7500 mAh battery delivers 16–18 hours of mixed use, outlasting most flagship rivals by a full cycle
5x optical periscope zoom with lossless framing; rare at this price point without digital binning
Dual 3500-nit AMOLED screens (front and back), with practical integration—camera preview on rear display saves battery and simplifies group shots
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 handles 8K video, high-frame gaming, and multitasking without thermal or lag issues

Trade-offs · 3

No charger in the box; at 100W charging, buyers must source an adapter separately
5x optical zoom is modest by 2025 flagship standards; competitors now offer 10x optical or larger periscope variants
Ultrawide's 0.61µm pixel produces softer edges in busy scenes compared to rivals with larger sensors
